Plans to build 138 houses on the land between Derbyshire Lane, Hemsworth Road and Warminster Road have been approved by the council.

Local councillor Steve Ayris said,

We carried out a survey as soon as we heard about the plans. The response has been massive.

Residents in the homes that surround the plot of land, known as ‘The Field’, have expressed deep worry over the plans, with the vast majority of people saying they are opposed to the scheme.

Your local Liberal Democrat councillors raised objections to the plans but these were ignored as planning permission was granted by the council.

Councillor Steve Ayris added,

I think it is unfair that the council ignored residents’ concerns about these plans. Houses cannot be built without infrastructure in place.

Community matters to me. That is why I will push for any planning money that the council gets from this development to be spent locally to benefit you.
