Labour push ahead with Graves Park land sell-off

Labour are pushing ahead with their controversial sell-off of a building on Graves Park land.

Labour are determined to sell off Cobnar Cottage despite it being on charitable land gifted to the City by J.G. Graves.

“At the moment it’s a cottage – but what will Labour want to sell off next?” asks Cllr Steve Ayris, “This could be the thin end of the wedge that sees more and more of our precious park given up for sale.”

“We’ve fought tooth-and-nail to protect land in Graves Park from Labour plans to develop or sell it off for over fifteen years”, added Cllr Ian Auckland who previously fought against plans to build on the Norton Nurseries land within Graves Park.

“The Liberal Democrat view is clear – we will never support the sale of land in our much-loved Graves Park, which was given to the people of Sheffield for future generations to enjoy.”

Your Lib Dem team are now encouraging residents to write to the leader of Sheffield City Council to object to the planned sell-off of the cottage.
