Liberal Democrat Councillor for Graves Park Ward - Working All Year Round Learn more
by Steve Ayris on 10 October, 2014
Steve Ayris and the Lib Dems have stepped up the campaign to protect Graves Park.
Steve and fellow Lib Dem councillors Ian Auckland and Denise Reaney have been fighting to protect the park for over a decade – and are now calling on the council to halt any further plans to sell off land, and for overgrown areas to be returned to parkland.
Cllr Steve Ayris said
The council must respect the boundaries of Graves Park and restore overgrown sites to parkland for local people to enjoy.
Labour Councillors want to sell off Cobnar Cottage, which lies within Graves Park, despite a huge local campaign against the sell-off. The Labour-controlled council have even been using land in Graves Park as a rubbish tip – as reported in previously.
Cllr Ian Auckland said
Leave a commentGraves Park is one of Sheffield’s greatest assets and was gifted to the people of Sheffield by J G Graves for us all to enjoy.
I’m determined to keep fighting to ensure that the council respect J•G Graves’ wishes and protect the park.
