WARMINSTER ROAD UNI SPORTS PLANS UPDATE:

The new plans for an extension to the University’s sports ground on Warminster Road were accepted by the council.Lib Dem Councillor Sue Auckland said,
After finding out about the original expansion plans we carried out a survey. We found that a lot of you were worried about two main things: traffic and the later opening times.
I am very pleased to see that the University have said they will do their best to manage traffic and parked cars and coaches in the area.
The original plan announced last year was for increased car parking at the Warminster Road entrance and the possibility of the facility being open until 22:30.
The new new plans allow the facility to be open until 22:00 Monday-Friday and 17:00 on weekends and bank holidays. The new plans would also see additional access via Woodland Road and parking on the Newfield School site.
Fellow Graves Park Lib Dem Councillor Steve Ayris added,
The change in opening hours and the University’s commitment to tackling parking is a move in the right direction. I will do my utmost to ensure that the University stick to this plan and you, as local residents, are not hindered by the expansion of the sports facility.
