Local Liberal Democrats are fighting against school funding cuts in Sheffield.
Recent figures from the National Union of Teachers show that schools in Sheffield will lose £27¼ MILLION in real terms by 2020.
This amounts to a loss of £131 a year for each child. That is the equivalent of 731 teachers being cut from our local schools.

Graves Park Lib Dem Cllr Steve Ayris, Shadow Cabinet Member for Children, Young People & Families said,
On top of cuts to funding, costs are also rising faster than their income. This means that even current levels of funding are not enough.”
Joe Otten, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Heeley, added,
Leave a commentIt is a disgrace that while schools face a severe funding crisis, £240 million is being spent on expanding grammars.
This Conservative Government has completely the wrong priorities.
Instead of protecting funding per pupil to give every child a chance in life, it is pushing through plans that will stretch our schools and teachers to breaking point.”
