Abbey View Road development

by Steve Ayris on 7 April, 2017

I have recently been made aware of a planning application to build six 3 ½ storey houses on the vacant land between 18 and 42 Abbey View Road.

Each of the six proposed houses would have four bedrooms, a garage and space for three vehicles.

Many locals have been in touch to raise several concerns that they have about the plans. These include:

●Narrow road – Abbey View Road is only 5.5m wide and there are often cars parked on both sides of the road. Access to the new houses would be very difficult.
●History of land slippage – There have been several landslides in the area that seem to have been caused by development.
●Environmental impact – At the minute, the proposed site is home to foxes and badges. The development could also lead to the loss of trees.

Your views on the planning application are very important. I recently carried out a survey of residents surrounding the planned development. This will help me to better represent your views when the planning application goes to committee.

If you would like more information on the plans, you view them online by searching for Abbey View Road on http://planningapps.sheffield.gov.uk or you can email me directly on steve.ayris@sheffield.gov.uk.
